yes i beleive hazrat nizamuddin is one of the stations in delhi
apart from old delhi and the main delhi railway station ... its supposed to be close to ISBT bus terminal and south delhi some trains start/go through this and not thro the main delhi railway station what iloveindia1234 has said must be right ... last time i took a train i remember i didnt have to take it from nizamuddin. Yes, you have to tick NZM, which is the code of H-Nizamuddin station in Delhi, about 20-25 minutes by rickshaw from New Delhi station NDLS. It is in south-east Delhi, quite close to Hanuman tomb.

There are more than one Inter State Bus Terminal in Delhi. The NZM station is next to Sarai Kale Khan ISBT.
Dear Gianni the tomb near the station is Humaun Tomb. Humaun was the second Mughal ruler. I would recommend the 2017 DEHRADUN SHTBDI. |

Can you tell me what station this is at? Our B & B is located at Nizamuddin East Colony so perhaps NZM station would be easier- Also just to further clarify all we have to do is show up on the day with our e-ticket we dont need to confirm our booking beforehand?

Shatabdi Expresses are premier fast trains with aircon chair cars, and the ticket price includes food & refreshments served on board. The 2017 Exp departs from New Delhi station which is not far from NZM.
Taking 2017A NZM DDN AC SPL from NZM will save you a hotel night tho. For the Shtabdi Exp. you should book atleast two days in advance and for the night journey book asap. |

When you search for a train from Delhi; the results will include trains from all of Delhi's stations (Delhi/New Delhi/Nizamuddin/Safadarjung/Cantt etc.).
You have searched for a train from DLI (Delhi), and this train leaves from Nizamuddin (NZM); that's why you are getting the message that the station you searched is not valid and asking you to select the boarding station. In your case you must select NZM. But as others have also pointed out, Shatandi is a much better train from Delhi to Haridwar. Since the train you are opting for originates in Indore, the probability of it being late is very high. \N Last edited by machadinha : Feb 16th, 2008 at 13:19. Reason: removed full quote |

![]() I am also planning a trip to Hardiwar (then Rishikesh) from Delhi and one of the posters mentioned that Shabati Express is the best choice. Is train 2055 also one such train...or only the 2017? This will be my first trip to India and I'm traveling solo up to Rishikesh on Feb 29th. My biggest concerns with which train to choose are actually related to the NON-train portions of the trip, i.e. would it be better for me to try to find reliable transport to the train station at 6am or better to take the later train and try to arrange transport from Hardiwar to Rishikesh upon arrival, and possibly after dark? If anyone has some advice, I'd be grateful! Thanks! |

Delhi at 6am should be ok, even for a first time female traveller. 6am may well be daylight (not right now in winter, but later, depending on when you are travelling)
It would be preferable, I think, to do that rather than get transport to Rishikesh after dark... though that is not unsafe either. |

Agree with the Capt., Delhi at 6 is OK, especially if you stay in the Paharganj area across the road from New Delhi station.
The Rickshaw drivers at Haridwar are dreadful and best avoided, their charges are nothing short of criminal, though they'll smile as they convince you that their charges are normal. (The locals pay Rs10 each for the shared rickshaw to Rishikesh, we were 5 people and eventually got the B"£$T%£&S down to Rs70 each, a total of Rs350, the driver then refused to take two of our group on to Laxman Jula, he was demanding more money, I was to make many journeys on this route, and a driver rarely made more than Rs50-70 TOTAL from ALL his passengers, I toughened up very quickly) Get the bus from the bus station opposite Haridwar station, the bus will take you to Rishikesh, though not to Laxman Jula, the tourist part of Rishikesh, that's still about 3-4kms further on, you'll need to get a rickshaw to Laxman Jula, preferably a shared rickshaw. If you turn left (as you leave the bus station at Rishikesh) and walk to the bottom of the road (about half a km), you'll get to the main road to Laxman Jula, turn left again and you'll be heading in the direction of Laxman Jula, then look for a shared rickshaw, get in one that already has people in it, don't ask about the price (or the driver will ask for at least Rs50), just sit down, when you get to the other end, just get out and give the driver Rs10, by that time you will have noticed the locals are only giving him Rs5. You'll still not be at Laxman Jula, you'll be at the 'Rickshaw station', about 1km from Laxman Jula, you'll almost certainly be dropped off across the road from the 'Rickshaw station' as most rickshaws end their journey there, if the rickshaw still has others in it, don't get out or say anything, it will then go on till Laxman Jula, then get out and pay Rs10, if everyone does get out at the 'Rickshaw station', wait for another share rickshaw heading in your direction that has other people in it. On your first visit, it may be worth just trying to get the rickshaw driver to take you from Rishikesh bus station to Laxman Jula, though you'll do well to get him down to Rs30-40, then you'll fume as he picks up loads of extra people and charges them Rs5. (There are 2 bus stations in Rishikesh, but the bus from Haridwar goes to the smaller bus station in Rishikesh)
