If you want to travel through the night, you might consider multi (two!) trains. Use this site and check the 'multi train route' box.

Train 5609 departs (old) Delhi station daily at 16:35 and gets to Lalgarh Junction at 05:45.
2-tier air con = Rs 962 3-tier air con = Rs 690 Sleeper Class = Rs 256 (not air con) Lalgarh is a junction 4kms from the centre of Bikaner. This train starts it's journey in Guwahati in Assam and could easily be 2 - 4 hours late, good news really when you look at the timing of the train. There is a telephone number you can ring to see if this train is running to time, your hotel in Delhi will have the telephone number. (It may be 139) I suggest you call at about 08:00 in the morning, the train will have already passed through all the sections where delays may happen, but whatever time the train is likely to arrive in Delhi, get there at least 90 minutes early, the train is due to be at Delhi station for 75 minutes, if it's late, they may allow it to leave earlier. (though it should still be at the station for a minimum 20 minutes).

All 3 classes are seats during the day, and beds at night.
The first 2 are air conditioned, and Sleeper Class is not air conditioned. See the following website for photos of each class. http://www.seat61.com/India.htm |

Are you going to Agra?
Train 2307 departs Agra Fort daily at 19:35 and gets to Bikaner at 08:50. 3-tier air con = Rs 720 Sleeper Class = Rs 276 This train starts in Calcutta and could be up to 2 hours late. Last edited by steven_ber : Jul 9th, 2007 at 11:12. Reason: updated trail info |

Try the following part of the Indian Railways website.
http://www.indianrail.gov.in/inet_srcdest_names.html Then enter.... Source Station Name : Delhi Destination Station Name : Lalgarh Class : all class Then click 'Get it'. Then click 'Get it' again. -------------------------- If you're trying to book on the IRCTC website, the station codes you will need are: - Delhi = DLI Lalgarh = LGH (bookings are not allowed for the next few hours) |

Delhi-Bikaner used to be easy, with a day and a night direct train. Now after gauge conversion, most of the trains to Bikaner start from Rewari, 80 kms south of Delhi. There is a 23.30 departure from Rewari, which arrives Bikaner at 0800. The Mandore Exp ( destination Jodhpur) would provide a Delhi-Rewari connection.
Easiest of all would be the 08.40 from Delhi Sarai Rohilla S.K Express to Bikaner ( but it is the day train, and only 3 days a week). |

Dear Sir,
##The distance from Lalgarh to Delhi by 5610 comes to 618 Kms. (11Hrs.55 minutes) ##The distance from Bikaner to Delhi Sarai Rohilla by 2464 comes to 684 Kms. (12Hrs.25 Minutes) ##The route via Jaipur appears to be faster, because for "additional" 66 Kms. you are spending only 30 minutes extra. |
