I was looking for trains from Udaipur City to Jaipur.
IRCTC shows only the following train: Udz Kurj Sup (12966)
Cleartrip shows ALSO the following one: Udz Kurj Exp (19666)

Both have the same timing, hence I suppose that are the same train, but on Cleartrip have different price.
Before noticing it, I've booked the Exp train and now I'm afraid that I won't be able to get on the train.

Any idea on this situation?

I've read that Cleartrip's system don't show (and book) all the trains.
The problem I've had with a train happened because of a server failure ...at least the Indian Cleartrip call center has explained that way.
After 1 hour I've performed the same operation with the same train (with crossed finger) and that time I got my ticket! :-)

Do you know if I can cancel a booked ticket through cleartrip? In the affirmative case, which is the refund policy?

I quick on erail.in also shows two trains and states that the 12966 will be renumbered to 19666 with effect from 13th July 2012.

Ok, that's a good start, but in your opinion why cleartrip has two different prices?
I'll give you an example in AC1 for 2 (TWO) people:
Udz Kurj Exp (19666) Rs. 2,713
Udz Kurj Sup (12966) Rs. 2,815

Even:
- if I've paid Rs 2,555(Base 2,400 Base + 90 Railway Charges + Cl. Fee 20 + Tr. Fee 45,18)
- In the ticket is shown: Total Fare Rs. 2,470

Furthermore in the IRCTC it's written (for 1 (ONE) person):
Udz Kurj Sup (12966) Total Amount 1365 (Base 1277 + Res. Charges 35 + Superfast Charges 50 ... the sum it's not exact...).
Price for 2 (TWO) ticket is 2730

It's my first time in India, so I don't know how it works, but in all this mess of different numbers, I'm afraid to get fined for paying less than I should, or not enter in that train at all.

Could you mitigate my doubt?

Train 12966 is classed as a Superfast and is subject to a fare surcharge. An Express is a lower category of train and does not have a surcharge. As long as you have a confirmed ticket for the day you travel you will not have a problem.

ADDITIONAL - You will see different totals quoted between Cleartrip and IRCTC because Cleartrip add a small reservation fee.
The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.

The 2 in 12966 indicates a 'superfast' train (average of more than 55kmh), superfast trains have Rs50 (I think) added to their ticket price per ticket.

It looks like IR are slowing this train down slightly (you'll not notice), or perhaps the overall average speed dropped when the train was recently extended to Kajuraho.

Thank you! It also helped me.

Although it's September, cleartrip still sells the Kurj Udz Sup (12965). But on erail.in, there's only 19665.
