Confirmed Ticket But No Detail on Coach / Seat !!!!!!

Hello all,

i booked a ticket it showed WL/AVAILABLE,

when i booked it i was able to book it but there was no information about the COACH/SEAT though the ticket showed CONFIRMED.

Can i travel. Its for Tomorrow Afternoon Train

Yes, you can travel.

Your ticket is a waitlisted ticket that has become confirmed (because of cancellations before you booked your ticket).

This is what happens when a waitlisted ticket becomes confirmed, you will only find out your seat/berth number and carriage when the chart is prepared before the train departs.

Get to the station, find your platform, and the reservation charts will be displayed on the platform, look for the 'waitlisted' section and you'll find your name in there with the carriage number and seat/berth number.

When you get to your carriage, you'll find another waitlist pinned next to the carriage entrance door, this will confirm you're at the right carriage.

The TTE will also have a full copy of the reservation chart.

Enjoy your trip.

or can i check it with my PNR number in the net 3-4hrs before the departure of the train?

will the coach and seating be displayed?

I was once told that you could, but I've never tried it.

Please let us know if you can check on the net after the chart is prepared.

I have done it. Several times.

After chart has been prepared.

Just entered my PNR Number before leaving home and discovered my coach no. and seat no. in the resulting display.

No problems at all....

when i book waitlisted tickets or RAC i do check it before three hrs and ge the coach number and seat with the coach position too

i check it in www.indianrail.gov.in it gives the coach position but when you check it in irctc it does give you this extra info.

i have chkd it whenever i book WL/RAC i was confused since when i booked i got it as 0000/CONFIRMED

i think i can check it on the net itself,

i will let you know for sure
