Good find WayFarer.

I used to do a similar job on trains going North from London Euston, we would collect all the rubbish just after the train departed, then keep checking the toilets, and doing 'rubbish runs', answer customers questions and tell them how to get to places once they arrived at their destination.

It was a fantastic concept and the most enjoyable job I've ever had, loved the job, made the mistake of getting promoted, then found out what a crap company I was working for.

Then spent weeks considering putting in a tender for the same operation on trains between Liverpool Street and Norwich, but I would have needed to move to Norwich to set up the company, so decided against it.

It will be interesting to see how it works on Indian Trains.

I'd rather not apply for this quota...

At a guess, I'd say that you've got a very good chance of your ticket going to RAC (a seat on the train, but not a berth), but maybe little chance of a confirmed berth.

There will be one full Sleeper Class carriage for Tatkal bookings, there will be 10 RAC seats in that carriage, so you need another 2 cancellations to get you into an RAC seat, and you need 12 cancellations (in total) to get a confirmed berth.

I doubt if 12 people (out of 67) would cancel a ticket they only booked 5 days in advance of their journey.

Good luck.

Dear Steven,

I am sorry to interrupt you. The CKWL Ticket either should get dropped (or) move into confirmed status, since RAC will not be there between Confirmed and Waiting List, as is the case with General Quota (or) Remote Location Quota

Is there no RAC in the Tatkal carriage? (in Sleeper Class)

Ckwk

The meaning of CK is TatKal and wl means waiting list.
I presume that this is waiting list in tatkal quota. And is given
high priority for confirmation.

Dear Narayan,

And is given high priority for confirmation.

##Those in CKWL would get confirmed either against the Cancellations under Confirmed Tatkal Bookings (OR) against the unused earmarked quotas.

##Those in CKWL will NOT be considered against the cancellations under Confirmed Bookings in General Quota.

Heads or tails?

It landed on heads.

And heads means....you've got absolutely no chance of a confirmed berth, rip the ticket up and throw it away.

I am only joking, I joke because it's better than shouting....."What train, what day"?

VSP will not be able to advise you without those details, bloody obvious really.

Dear Steven,

The message was posted on 12th. Hence, he must be travelling on or before 17.8.2008.
----
No need for any further particulars. This ticket would NOT get confirmed. Unfortunately, if he has purchased this ticket under E-Ticket, then his name would automatically get dropped from the waiting list and he cannot even board the train.
---
If he has purchased this ticket either across the PRS Counter or under I-Ticket, atleast, he would have the option of Running After the Conductor - not our regular RAC, please.:-)
