We had a long discussion regarding CJTs in another forum. We persistently requested for removal of Endorsements Clause - both for commencement of journey and for Break Journey - at each Break Journey Point.

I can say, we were successful and for your information, I extract below relevant portion from the Southern Zone Time Table effective 1.7.2005:-

""The endorsement of break journey is not required on circular journey tickets""

In addition, please look at the following clauses:-

1) The validity period of the circular journey ticket will be calculated based on the distance of the ticket.
.....
2) The ticket will be valid from the date of commencement of journey indicated on the ticket.
.....
3) The journey should be completed within the validity period of the ticket mentioned therein.

If my recollection is correct - I bought a circular journey ticket about 10 years ago, these tickets are not valid for Rajdhani Expresses. They might have removed that restriction.

Basic fares would be (assuming all journeys in same class, and NOT using Rajdhani)

Based on vsp's total journey length of 5766 Kms.

2883 Kms =

3A = Rs 1498 (X2) = Rs 2996 + Rs 30 (SF charge) + Rs 25 for each seperate reservation.

SL = Rs 533 (X2) = Rs 1066 + Rs 20 (SF charge) + Rs 20 for each seperate reservation.

The information regarding CJTs is NOT uniformly printed in all the 5 Group Time-tables.

However, the following information is printed in Eastern Zone Time Table (Page No.40):
------
""If a passenger desire to travel in higher class or by higher category of train, he/she will be required to pay the difference of fares for such distance on point-to-point basis""

""Reservation Charges for different legs of journey and supplementary charge on superfast trains are levied extra""

today i visited the local railway station at patiala pb. and the incharge of booking station told me to hand over the details af the journey along with k.m calculation , routes etc and they will issue the ticket from her itself
so no need of going to ambala, as it looks now
but the sad thing is tht they will take atleast 7 max. working days to work out/check my itenery but i suppose they will do tht fast it seems when i requested them to be little fast on tht matter
ok will tel all tht 2moro as i will be taking the details to them 2moro

as there r many trains so no problem , fare nt calculated

kindly also tel tht Rs 20(SF charges ) in case of sleeper class and rs 30 charges (SF) for ac 3 tier will be leived on every reserved ticket(like reservation charges) or only once in the total fare (CJT)

Journey starting from Rajpura / New Delhi

First place of visit Puri

Then to Kolkota

and Back

My self Anand new to this forum...I have some queries regarding Circular Journey reservations...

We, being 12(most of them r old women n kids),planning for nainital.We wil b starting from Hyderabad/Vijayawada..If we r booking a CJ ticket,Mathura(U.P) wil b travelled twice..1 being when we move from Mumbai-Nizamuddin(via KOta)n while we r returning from Nizamuddin to Hyd(via Nagpur).I ask u whether this wil be possible during this journey..If we come by lucknow(nainital to lucknow) to Sec'bad that wil b a lengthy journey for those adults.So I am in fix what to do? whether we opt circular journey or we proceed normally.How much fare difference wil b there if we travel by the route outlined above and how many extra days r required??Please throw some light at CJ bookings also....
