Chittorgarh to Ahmedabad by train?

Hi,
I've read in a guide that chittorgarh was on the railway from Delhi to Ahmedabad. Have you ever heard about this? Or have you taken a train directly from Chittor to Ahmedabad (or a bus at last)? I've searched on IRTC but they say it doesn't exist !

Ahmedabad to Udaipur is metre gauge, Udaipur to Chittaurgarh is now broad gauge, so you'd need to take a daytime or overnight train from Ahmedabad to Udaipur, then another train or bus from Udaipur to Chittaurgarh.

A bus from Ahmedabad to Udaipur or Chittaurgarh will be quicker.

Hi martin,

Chittorgarh is connected to Ahmedabad meter gauge railway line. But off-late, indian railways is converting all meter guage lines to broad guage lines. If the work is going on currently in that section, obviously the train servies will come to halt. I dont have the latest update on this as the guage conversion is going on in different parts of the country. The nearest airport to chittorgarh is udaipur (116km) and ahmedabad is around 430 away from chittogarh (there should be some buses plying). My advise is go to udaipur by train/bus of your choice and take a another train to ahmedabad. Following are the trains from chittaurgarh to udaipur. Both the trains run all week days

2963 MEWAR EXPRESS *CHITTAURGARH 05:00 UDAIPUR CITY 07:00
2965 JP UDZ SUP EXP *CHITTAURGARH 05:40 UDAIPUR CITY 07:45
train# 2963 has 1A (Fare Rs572) 2A (Rs 342) 3A (Rs 268) and sleeper class (Rs 141). and train# 2965 do not have 1A, the fares of other classed as same as for train#2963

Train from Udaipur to ahmedabad runs on all week days

431 UDZ ADI FASTPA UDAIPUR CITY 09:20 AHMEDABAD JN 20:55
9943 UDZ ADI EXPRESS UDAIPUR CITY 19:45 AHMEDABAD JN 04:20
train# 431 appears to be a passenger (slow train) and have only sleeper class ( fare Rs 98) and the other one 9943 have 2 tier a/c, first class(non-ac) and sleeper class (fare for 2 tier a/c is Rs567 / First class Rs 451 and Sleeper class Rs 154)

Thank you for theses helpfull answers. That's what I'd seen about the trains on IRTC but I wanted to check if it was possible to join directly both cities (and to spare some time
