Check in Luggage on train & Laptop Power Point?

Hi,

I am going to India for the first time spending 1 month in Mumbai, one month in Kolkata and one month in New Delhi. (It is a holiday while working trip)

I will be travelling by train from each city. But as I will also be having to do business while in India I will have a laptop and quite a bit of luggage.

I will be travelling 1st Class a/c .

Is there a luggage car on the Calcutta Mail to Kolkatta that I can check my luggage in? Instead of taking it on the train with me.

Is there a power point in 1st Class a/c for me to plug my laptop in.

Hi dazalan, welcome to Indiamike.

No problem, but you should check in a bit early and take luggage to be checked in to the Luggage Office. I haven't travelled 1st a/c, but since 2 a/c has power points, there should be no problem there either. Have a great trip!

I think it is better to carry the laptop and the other valuable items along with you. The normal baggage can be put in luggage car. But, as you have lot of space in the compartment and porters are available to carry the luggage, you also can carry along with you.

You can have the power points.
