If you are traveling in the same train, then you may book it in the luggage van, it will travel with you.

No problem, you can still book it on the train. That'll be the cheapest medium to do it. Go to Parcel office of New Delhi Railway Station on Ajmeri gate side. There are many agents who'll do it on turnkey basis for you....or you can do it yourself also.

Oh ! You can send any weight. That's no issue. Cargo is a separate business for Railways, they don't do it free they earn money from it.

I do not remember the prices/rates...but it will be most cost effective....should be around Rs. 200-300.

This might happen, if there are trans shipments i.e. If tehre is no direct train and there are many trains involved.

Once, I sent 4-5 cartons...from Bhilai, Chhatisgarh to Dehradun, all reached safely....
