Cancelling e-ticket by phone after departure ?

Namaste Friends,

Can I cancel an e-ticket via phone ? If so, please tell me how.

I am booked on two trains for the same leg. (Mumbai - Aurangabad). That's because I may miss the earlier of the two if my connecting train runs late.

If I do miss the earlier train, can I cancel the unused ticket over the phone ? And will I get a refund ?

Or is the internet the only way to cancel my reservation and get a refund for my e-ticket ? (In which case I'm not sure it will be feasible. I may still be stuck in my connecting train after the 3-hr deadline expires).

I'm sorry if that has been addressed but I did search the train threads as well as other websites and I'm still not sure.
Many thanks for your answers !

If you miss the train you won't get a refund. And no, you can't get a refund over the phone.

Thank you for your answer.

Still I was under the impression that you could cancel a ticket up to 3 hours after the departure of the train ? Read that in Beach's thread. Maybe this is not valid anymore ?

For a booked ticket, you need to go to the station and cancel the same

Thank you all. Sadanand's link above is brilliant. (How did I miss that page ? )
In case it may help other travellers, here are bits of the official info :

<<< Cancellation of e-Tickets after the preparation of Reservation charts
For any claims on e-Tickets to be cancelled after the preparation of Reservation charts, (i.e. under 4 hrs before train departure) the user has to send an email at the earliest possible time (within 30 days) to etickets@irctc.co.in giving full details of the ticket and stating the claim. (...) Refunds as sanctioned by the Railway administration would be credited back to the user's account.
Refund claims under above clause may require at least 60 days or more for processing.>>>
In which case they refund 50% of the ticket.

Thanks again !
