cancel an e-ticket

I'm getting ready to buy an e-ticket for september 14th (kolkata to NJP)

If I change my mind, is it easy to cancel and rebook the e-ticket?

Hello

I have just booked an E-ticket and it was really easy !
I would imagine it is as easy to cancel or change it .
Why don't you practise by booking a really cheap ticket and then see if you can cancel it.

If it is for train then it is really easy to cancel. I did this about 2 months ago. The process was pretty quick and painless.

Dear Kidfunk,

The E-Ticket should be booked on the Net and should be cancelled only on the Net. This cannot be cancelled across the PRS Counter.

The I-Ticket should be booked on the Net but should be cancelled only across the Ticket.

The E-Tickets will be issued either for Confirmed Berths (or) for RAC, but E-Ticket will not be allowed to booked on the Net, if the status moves to "Waitlist", whereas I-Tickets (including Tatkal), confirmed / RAC / WL status tickets will be booked.

The E-Tickets shall have to be printed on the Net, whereas I-Tickets will be delivered ONLY to the Address in India.

The E-tickets can be booked (**on the Net) upto 4 Hours before scheduled departure of the Train, whereas for I-tickets that are to be delivered by courier to the customer, there must be two clear calendar days between the booking date and the date of travel.

Proof of Identity Card is a MUST for E-Ticket and I-Ticketing and its details have to be furnished while booking Ticket on the Net and however if the Identity Card holder in the original ticket is selected for cancellation, all the passengers in the ticket would be cancelled and a fresh reservation will have to be made.
