Unhappy Can not book Trains New Delhi to Haridwar over the net?

New delhi to Haridwar

Hello, I am a newbie about to make my first trip to India. I am attempting to do book most of my accommodation and train bookings online before I leave. I have successfully booked several trains using the irctc site. However I am stuggling with booking a train from New Delhi to Haridwar on the 19th Dec 2009. My preferred train is the 2017, but I can not find any trains running on the 19th. I want to return to New Delhi on 26th dec 2009. Not fussed on what class I travel but do want to travel in daylight hours as much as possible.
All the other trains I have booked allowed me to book 90 days in adavance.
Am I missing something re seasonal or timetable changes? as whenever I search for trains from Delhi to Haridwar, all trains come up with a message like "train cancelled" "this halt cancelled" or "this is a through station"
Confussed. Thanks in advance
SriNath
PS. last date I can find any train is 4th Dec 09. From 5th dec on I get a message saying "ISL Station Deleted" ????

2017 Shatabdi Express is a daily train, I think you may be encountering some technical problem and you should try again.

Thanks Delhiwala,
I am sure you are correct.
It seems strange that IRCTC shows trains and seat avaialability up to the 4th Dec then the "ISL Station deleted" message for all dates after. I get the same, or a similar message on all other trains Delhi to haridwar route as well. I thought maybe it was a shorter advance booking time!! I have been trying to book 2017 for 2 weeks!!
Thanks SriNath

You are right ! I tried it for 9th Dec and it surely gave the same message...

But then I tried for booking upto Dehradun (it's terminal) also, it's still giving the same message. If the message is correct than it means that the train has been cancelled, which is highly unlikely.

I think it's a technical problem, I have sent a mail to IRCTC help desk.

Thanks again for trying to help.
I am glad it is not just me. When I first experieced this problem about 2 weeks back I got an email response (can't remember which site or address) advising that some trains have shorter advance booking periods like 75 or 60 days. I assumed I was trying to book too early, so waited for 2 weeks and still get the same message so this technical issue has been there for quite a while.
I get the same messages when I search on the erail site as well. Could you please forward the IRCTC help deck email address.
Regards SriNath

Thanks for that email address Delhiwala.
I am arriving in New Delhi from Varanassi on the evening of the 18th Dec and wanted to go to Haridwar early on the 19th Dec.
Do you know if it is feasible to stay in the Waiting/Guest rooms at New Delhi station, and if so how and where do you book them?

Retiring Room is available at New Delhi station, but it can' be booked online. You'll have to be book it at the Railway Station itself. The Booking window is at Platform No. 1.

Thanks, I just spent a bit of time on the Northern Rail site. There are not many retiring rooms! Is the demand usually high? and thanks for the info of where the office is.

I do not get into New Delhi till 17.20PM if the train is on time so probably not much chance of a retiring room for that night!!
I think the 2017 (once I finally get a booking) Leaves around 6AM so it would be covienient to stay at the station. What are the new waiting rooms like?

Could it be something to do with the Kumbah Mela in January? Maybe a special timetable, or maybe this lines timetable changes 1st November?
