That's not Sleeper Class, everyone has their assigned seat/berth in Sleeper Class.

We tried to book takal but it wouldnt let us initially we then just did general and it worked.
I'm sure you feel you've give all the info you need to give, when actually you've told us nothing, no advice can be offered without knowing the date and class of travel.

Hi Stephen - thanks for your reply.

Sorry I thought I had given enough info.

We've booked 2ac for the overnight train from Thivim to Mumbai. The quota is general. The date is this friday - so 13th Feb at 7pm arriving the morning of 14th Feb.

the coach no and seat no is at the moment saying 0000 but thats usual right, they dont assign berths till later?

child under 5 - what's supposed to happen

hello
I have been looking through all the threads and read somewhere that although you don't pay for a ticket for a child under 5, the child needs to be mentioned in the passenger list. However I'm on the irtc website and when I try to add in my youngest, it says that the age must be between 5 and 98. Not sure what the best thing to do is? Thank you for any advice.

I'd be worried if I had a WL 14 ticket for 2A this friday.

I'd probably try to book Tatkal just to be sure.

OK, can you travel the next morning?

A new train has started (4 new trains connecting Mumbai and Goa at weekends).

Train 0106 departs Madgaon on Saturdays at 08:45 and gets to Mumbai CST at 17:35.

Because the train is new, there's still availability in all classes.

(The train only calls at Madgaon in Goa, and doesn't call at Sawantwadi Rd, so you'll have to get to Madgaon.)

We tried Tatkal but it said booking not permitted? i tried again there, and the same thing.

before I cancel and do the day time one, is there any way we can get an update on what we are in the Wait list? I cant seem to see how to check this on the site itself.

EDIT: worked out how to do it. We're now WL 13 & 14? Not looking good?

Dear Shel,

If you want to book Tatkal, you need to reserve from Madgaon to Mumbai and then opt THIVIUM as your Boarding Point.

You have to pick up your online tickets, or have them delivered? I just made online reservations, paid by Visa and then printed out the Electronic Reservation slip per instructions which states that you will need to carry the ERS and valid ID. Seems that that's all we need. Help for a newcomer, please.

Hi rchatcuff. That is all you need. The ID should be what you used for your reservation.

Oh and welcome to IM.

about the WL

hello,

I booked my first ticket (e-ticket) to IR and was wondering about my WL status and getting some info about it.

I clicked "pnr status" -button from my bookings in IRCTC and it did open a window with pnr status. Though, it says also that "unable to retrieve due to communication failure".

The pnr status tells me that my booking status was W/L 3 and current status W/L 3. I booked my ticket 2 days ago and it seems that nothing happens with the WL. Is it possible that nothing actually happens with the list or am I checking from wrong place?

My train is 2556 gorakdam express, class 2A and date of travel is 25th feb.

Thanks for any info.

Generally in last 2-3 days before train departure major changes in WL position can occur... however getting WL clear depends on many factors - particular season, popularity of particular train, quota available for route you are traveling ,class & type of WL ticket (WL/PQWL/RLWL)..
