Booking an AC First class cabin to travel with my dog

I am planning to travel from Chennai to Delhi on Tamilnadu Express and have booked 4 First AC berths in my name. I will be travelling with a puppy and hence wanted a coupe 2 or 4 for myself. How do i get it and is it valid to book 4 tickets in the same name. I am the only passenger.

Not an issue. However I would be suggesting to book the tickets once again from the PRS Counter by mentioning from before hand that you would be carrying a puppy. Chances are more for you to get a cabin.

Pls guide me once again. Booking through PRS counter again means rebooking after cancelling the existing ticket? I have done the existing booking through eticketing system.

I am not well aware of this, but people usually say that one needs to intimate the booking staff that you would be carrying a pet dog with yourself.
In case you are alloted the berths in 4 diff cabins/coupes, and the TTE is not able to club into one single cabin; wouldn't you find it difficult to carry the pet dog (If the co-passengers object)??

My advice would be to book from a PRS after informing them that you will be traveling with a puppy. Mention the same on the PRS reservation slip as well. This may not only save you the cost of booking a full cabin, but may help if someone in the cabin/coupe objects.

Hi, How do we get a cabin in First AC if a person is travelling from Chennai to Delhi all alone. Is there a possibility to get a cabin allotted for a single person. If so, pls guide.

Four tickets and a dog?

Really not sure if that could work. Couldn't the TTE give the other three tickets to WL or upgrade passengers, on the grounds that the people didn't turn up?

Thirty or forty hours on a train --- alone? Wouldn't that be fairly horrible?

No. One can reserve as many berths he wants to in his name.

hi dipyamanbasu, I got a reply from a railway personal today that multiple tickets cannot be booked on same person's name. Can you share me an official document by which I can go ahead with the booking. Thanks.

No official documents is available with me.
The best option would be to go to the nearest PRS Counter and then book the ticket.
Even if any TTE objects in the train, you could challenge him back saying that it was one of the Railways Officials itself who had booked the ticket.
In any case, I was told by some catering staff of 12245 and 12246 that one can book multiple tickets in his name if he needs to carry extra luggage or carry his/her dog.

I am currently travelling on Tamilnadu Express from Chennai to Delhi. Have reached Itarsi. I had booked 4 first AC berths online. Was worried if this could be allowed or not. On the day of travel I went to the Chief Reservation Officer and requested for a cabin. He assured that normally it would be alloted if booked in a single ticket. I gave him a written application just to make sure. Since it was an HA1 coach, I didnt take the risk of booking only 2 berths to get a coupe. I was alloted a cabin. I then paid the luggage rate for my dog and now we are on our way back to Delhi.
It is possible to book 4 berths in a single name and you could get a cabin exlusively for your use. While travelling with a Dog it is always good to book a cabin (if alone), or travel with 3-4 people to get a cabin.

Pleasure Sir. Nice to know that you are travelling with your pet in a single cabin without any fuss or hassle.
However, if possible I would request you to put up a draft or layout of the letter which you had written to the Chief Reservation officer.
Also, if you could mention the amount which you had to pay for your dog. Are you taking the dog in a specially designed box or is it kept open?
