Boarding station can not be changed for a ticket booked under Tatkal

I have an e-ticket booked for the travel from Maddur (MAD) to Tiruchchirapali (TPJ) for the date of Journey 23rd October 2009 under Tatkal quoto.

Due to some unavoidable official work, I will not be able to board the train from Maddur (MAD) and will be able to board the train only from Bangalore cantonment station.

Hence I went to Bangalore cantonement station and requested the Chief reservation Supervisor,to change my boarding station to Bangalore Cantonment station form Maddur station.

But he simply denied saying Boarding station can not be changed for a ticket booked under Tatkal after the recent changes in Tatkal system that from anyeher to anywhere you can book the ticket under Tatkal quoto.

I went through all the circulars (53 in no for year 2009) in the official webiste , But I could not find any info regarding this.

Is this true, Can somebody confirm this, if it is true why they did not update in thier websites, Can I do something about this.?

I am not sure why there is no reply to my queries. Is it like nobody aware of this or?

##I spoke to my friend who works in PRS Counter. He confirmed that even after recent changes in Tatkal Scheme, change in Boarding Point is being effected.

Thank you very mych for the reply.

I am planning to board the train from Bangalore City railway station (which is the first stop after Maddur) today. Incase if my seat is allotted to somebody else beacuse of my "No turn" at Maddur station, I will not be able to get the refund as "Not travelled" since its a Tatkal Ticket.

In that situation I want to sue "Chief reservation Supervisor" of Bangalore contonement station for denying me the change of boarding point. what should I do. Please let me know the steps.

Just want to let all of you know that I was able to travel in my ticket tahts night without any issues. The TTR was very kind enough not to allot my seat to anybody else.

By the way I checked with station manager of SBC also, he is also saying that Boarding station can not be changed for a ticket booked under Tatkal quota, Can somebody confirm.?
