Bhavngar to Ahmedabad (train or bus?)
I am trying to figure out how to get from Bhavngar to Ahmedabad.
I can only find train #9272. Are there other options, or should I look into buses?

I think bus is faster than train...about 4 hours!

Okay, I just looked at the LP. Apparently there are buses leaving every 2 hours from Bhavnagar. Only 70 rupees
![]() There is a 9909 Shetrunji Express that is wayy early in the morning...takes 5 1/4 hrs. And there is 9935 Ahmedabad Express...but doesn't say how long it takes. Its in the afternoon. |

'Trains at a Glance' also shows a daily II class train, #9274 Bhavnagar-Ahmedabad express at 10:00, arriving at 16:40. If the bus is only 4 hours, probably a better deal.
(edit: I crossed posts with Kanbe, I don't see the other trains mentioned in the current TAAG, just the 9274 and 9272) |

The trains have changed recently, TAAG should be correct, the LP info is probibly from the Metre Gauge days of a couple of years ago, the line has since been converted to Broad Gauge.

A physical copy, as opposed to an on-line one, is nice for browsing trip possibilities and planning and I was happy to find a new release at the last train station I passed through before heading home last month. A bargain at 30 rupees; mine replaced a 3 year old issue that was still fairly useful!. Sorry, I don't know how you would go about getting a copy in Australia... there is no ordering information in the book itself. Perhaps you could ask at an Indian-run travel agency if they have one and how they got it -- but it would probably be from a returning traveller or sent from India by a friend. |

Someone smack me if I'm wrong, but I believe it is semi-annual. My copy is dated Sept '04 - June '05.
