Best Route from Mandu to Khajuraho
Best Route from Mandu to Khajuraho
Hi all I am heading to Mandu tomorrow and from there want to make my way to Khajuraho. Does anyone have any advice on the best way to get there. At the moment I can only think to go back to Indore and train to Jansi then bus to Khajuraho although I haven't checked out whether I can bus it from Mandu straight to Khajuraho. Anyway any advice appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

In all honesty you would'nt want the bus from Mandu to Khajuraho thats a mighty long ride!!.
Your plan of going back to Indore then via Jhansi sounds like the best plan you could go Jabalpur, Satna, Khajuraho but that's a long way around!!
For a change of scenerey you Couls cartch the train at Kandwa you have more trains running between here and Jhansi as well!!
From Jhansi it's a pleasant 4 hour ride to Khajuraho, you might think about taking in Orchha whilst you're in the area, it's only 18 KMs from Jhansi

The bus for Khajuraho leaves from opposite the front side of Jhansi Train Station at around 11 o'clock!!
Enquire at the little tourist office near the entrance to the platforms!!
There are others of course but you'll have to make your way down to the bus station to find out about the times!
On the way back, ask to be let off at the Orchha junction, where you can get a shared tempo for the 8 Km journey into Orchha
