Hello Akshay Paul and welcome to indiamike.com
For the benefit of others, the class we're talking about is 3-tier air con.
This is a brand new train, a Garib Rath, and the carriages have a different layout to normal carriages, this train only started service a couple of weeks ago.
Indian Railways haven't been consistent with the carriages in the Garib Raths, sometimes using older carriages, but I think I know where your berth 80 will be: -
Berth 80 will be A side middle berth, yes, that's right, a side middle berth (SM), with berth 79 below and berth 81 above, berth 78 will be opposite the 3 side berths, and keeping an eye on you all.
During the day, the side berths are supposed to be lifted to leave 2 facing seats for use by those in berths 79 & 81, berth 80's occupant is supposed to sit on one of the longer seats (about 185cm) occupied by those using berths 73, 74, 75, 76, 77 & 78 (unless everyone is very large, there will be plenty of room.
An alternative, leave the lower berth (79) as a bed, and three people can sit there (about 167cm), though your feet will be in the corridor and you won't be able to see out of the windows.
I've highlighted the berth lengths as you'll need to know them, make sure the tallest person is given berth 78, it's a whole 18cms longer. (I've had to guess the lengths as I've not used one of these Garib Rath carriages, the length of berth 78 should be accurate as those berths should be the same size as in an ordinary carriage, but the side berth length is just an educated guess, the other 3A carriages have only 8 sections, the Garib Rath 3A carriages have 9 sections, the same as an ordinary Sleeper Class carriage, so I've given the length of a Sleeper Class side berth)
The Garib Rath's are the first trains to try out the new high capacity carriages, these carriages have 3 side berths (the height of the carriage is more than normal carriages, and the use of space is better, the berths are also slightly thinner, all in all, this allows a side middle berth to be added), but the cost of berths in Garib Raths is about a third cheaper than ordinary carriages, I've heard the carriages are not as crowded as they sound.
The following info is from another thread and has links to photos of the new carriages, the 2nd link has photos of a 3-tier air con carriage on the very train that you'll be using.

Reason: adding location of berth 78, and daytime seating arrangements
Hi Akshay,
It will be great if you can type in a few words about your Garib Rath experience once you do the trip.
It will be helpful for future travellers.

Dear Big Zero,
But the AC Chair Coaches of garib rath are too cramped and are found to be uncomfortable.
----
The coach has been divided into two halves - one half consisting 54 Seats (3+3x9=54) AND the other half containing 48 Seats (3+3x8=48). A dining table has been provided to the last row in the first half and first row in the second half!!
.....
Certainly the ambience in the coach was excellent, so was the case with 3A Coach!!!!

Just found out one of the ways Garib Rath 3-tier air con carriages save space, there is no room for 'bed rolls', this means no sheets, pillows, blankets or towel.
The carriages will be kept at a temperature between 27 and 28 degrees, and the railways think we'll not need bedding at that temperature.
So ladies, carry a sheet for extra privacy.

location of bearth 80 is side middle(SM) I will be traveling from Kolkata(CP) to Guwahati(GHY) on 30th July by Garib Rath. Will they provide bedroll & pillow Or I have to carry something ? If they provide bed rolls I think it will be a paid one. So, how much I have to pay for the bedroll ?
2735 SC-YPR GaribRath Side middle berth info
Hello sir,
I have booked my ticket in 2735 garibrath(PNR 1347699786). According to VSP sir, 2735 has 78 berths.
My berths are 59 & 60 - on the ticket it says they are SMB and SUB...this cud be possible only if the first 3 berths are the special cabin at the end/start of the carriage.
But if 1 starts as normal 9 berth cabin, my 59 shud be middle berth. we are travelling with our 8 month old baby. so we wanted to make sure which berth is ours so that we can make sufficient arrangements. Also request you to suggest somethgs I shud carry in case if its SMB for my baby, if there is any thg like that.
Thanks & regards
Arun

FIRST BAY:##Berth No.1....LB
Berth No.2......MB
Berth No.3......UB
Berth No.4.....SLB
Berth No.5.....SMB
Berth No.6.....SUB
----------------------
Berth No.14/23/32/41/50/59 are SMBs.and Berth No.60 is SUB.
============================== =======
##However, in the 09 Coaches, the Berth Alignment is as follows:
FIRST BAY:
Berth No.1....LB
Berth No.2....MB
Berth No.3....UB
Berth No.4....LB
Berth No.5....MB
Berth No.6....UB
Berth No.7....SLB
Berth No.8....SMB
Berth No.9....SUB
------
Berth Nos.16/25/34/43/52/61 are SLBs.
Berth Nos.17/26/35/44/53/62 are SMBs.
Berth Nos.18/27/36/45/54/63 are SUBs.
##So, if you get allotment in "09-Coach", then 60 is UB and 59 is MB.

Thanks for a quick reply sir. So you mean to say that there is still a possibility to get a SMB or a MB according to the coach avbl with SCR that particular day for my G12.After seeing the photos of SMB and SUB, I am relieved as it doesnt look so cramped. Though I travelled in GR twice before never got/observed Side berths
