Question Bedroll???

anybody care to define and elaborate on the bedroll that one gets in the 2AC train accommodation?

Does one receive a pillow? Are the sheets (if there are some, we had them on the train in Thailand) fairly clean?

Mahalo (thanks)

I'll leave others to reply properly to this as I never use the sheets/pillow and can't remember accurately enough to give information.

I will say though, I helped a friend make up his berth and then watched the attendant on a Thai train make up a berth, it seemed so much easier on the Thai trains, now I think about it, the Thai 2-tier air con and non air con berths seemed wider and more comfortable even though they were metre gauge trains.

Hope I haven't confused the issue I'm talking about the overnight trains in India.

Depends on the train, but generally the sheet, pillow and blanket are sparkling clean, and even pressed.

Question

Mahalo for your replies -- read somewhere -- to bring a cloth to sit down on so thought I should ask about the bed roll.

I've heard it is chilly in 2AC do they give you a blanket?

As I recall, you get 2 sheets, pillow and case, plus a heavy wool blanket -- all clean. It can get quite cool when the AC and fan are cranked up (you can turn the fan off if the other people in the compartment agree), but the temperature seems to fluctuate depending on how fast the train is moving - or maybe that was just my imagination.

You didn't see the napkins? They were right next to the toilet paper!
