Anyone taken the Himsagar Express all the way?

As I was sitting in the waiting area of Coimbatore station in the middle of a September night, I heard several announcements for the Kanyakumari-Jammu Tawi Himsagar Express. I though to myself it is amazing that this train is going all the way to Jammu, 3200 kilometers to the north, near the Himalayas I had left two weeks prior.

So I was wondering, has anyone taken this line end-to-end without stopping? How is it living in an Indian train for three days straight?

My personal record in one train is about 36 hours from Damascus to Tatvan, Turkey... in a first class seat. I would imagine 70 some hours would get quite boring without good company, and even then.

It can only be a hardcore railfan who'll undertake the journey point to point. I'm a railfan myself, but today the very idea of spending 73 hours on a train puts me off !

Maybe I'd have said differently 15 years back, but today I have just no patience !!
