Smile Any thoughts on a 2 week itinerary?

I’m taking my 16 year old step son to India for the last two weeks of July. It’s going to be wet but that’s the only time we can do the trip. I’ve been to India before at this time so I know what to expect. My stepson wants to see the mountains and likes outdoor sports. I’d like him to get a good flavour of the spiritual side of the country and to meet people. We have return air tickets to Delhi. I hate travelling on buses but love the trains.

My itinerary idea is this and I’d be very grateful to receive any thoughts and ideas -

• Arrive Delhi and stay two nights. Take in the main sites like the Fort, Chandi Chowk, the mosque etc.

• Take Shatbadi train to Agra and stay one night.

• Take overnight train to Varanasi (where it will be very rainy) and stay two nights.

• Take train to Dehradun and then onto Mussoorie for two nights for some trekking/cycling ,weather permitting (or alternatively, break this journey in Lucknow).

• Travel by road from Mussoorie to Rishikesh. Maybe try some rafting and/or yoga.

• Take train from Haridvar to Delhi.

Thank you

You know how July would be, so rafting may not be possible. Otherwise it seems ok.
