Another train question!

Yesterday I booked tickets for me and my partner to travel from Sawai Madhopur to New Delhi, vis the IRCTC website. Following instructions to a 'T' I put down C/O IRCTC as teh delivery address, and 110055 as the pin code. I then paid for the ticket on my credit card, whcih was duly processed and a Transaction ID issued. My IRCTC on-line profile has the booking as confirmed. Just checked my statement and the payment is being processed.

I then emailed IRCTC and asked them to hold the tickets until I collect them on 28th October. I received a swift reply to be told that the tickets have not materialised and that I need to make the booking again - Thereby paying twice for one transaction!!

Anyone know what's going on. Has anyone else had the same/similar problem?

I dont understand, from where did you get the address of IRCTC.

16, Parliament Street, New Delhi 110001.

Tel: 011-23311263/011-23311264.

Fax: 011-23311259
For Doubts/Queries/Complaints/Appreciations regarding bookings/services 24 Hrs.Customer Support at 011-23345500, 011-23344787,011-23344773
or care@irctc.co.in

Hope this will help, try cancelling the previous ticket, i think it is going to return back to IRCTC as "address not Found"

He probably got them from a post I put up.

The info came straight from the IRCTC (care@..), and gave precise info bout what to put in the fields of the booking form, and then followup email request to IRCTC to ensure the holding of the tickets.

They also provided a specific address to attend to pick up the tickets:

IRCTC (Operation Centre)
New Delhi reservation Office
IRCA Buildings, Chelmsfor Road
New Delhi 110055.

The above is about 200metres down the road from the NDLS, and is open 24 hours per day.

I received a confirmation email within 15 mins of sending to the IRCTC advising them of my PNR and tranasction numbers, advising that my tickets would be held until my arrival.
