Amritsar To Chandigarh

Hi all.

I need to get to Chandigarh from Amritsar around XMAS. I checked the Indian trains and no service is offered between these two cities. This means that I would have to take the train from Amritsar (ASR) to Delhi then back up to Chandigarh (CDG).

Does anyone know how frequently the bus service runs between ASR to CDG, how long it takes, how much etc?

there is no direct train link between AMS & CHG,but that doesn`t mean that you`ve to travel all the way to delhi,you can travel from AMS to ambala cantt. and then proceed to CHG.there should be a bus if not every half an hour then atleast every hour.in punjab in general the train connection are rather bad, hence most of the people travel by buses.i can`t say about the travel time but there`re two routes,one via ropar and second via ludhiana.in dec-jan is punjab usually very foggy.the journey can take much longer then the usual travel time.
