ajmer-jodhpur trains
ajmer-jodhpur trains
I made an enquiry on the site "trainenquiry", in order to check the number of trains between ajmer and jodhpur, and I only got one hit (train number 2JA). Is it true that there's only one train from ajmer to jodhpur? I find it a bit "strange" because ajmer and jodhpur are part of the main list of stations of the site. I would expect to find a larger range of trains between two "important" stations. Thanks in advance for your help.

There is only one train, and that is only a daytime passenger train with only 2nd class unreserved.
Ajmer is on the mainline (Delhi, Jaipur, Phulera, Ajmer, Marwar, Abu Rd, Ahmedabad), this line splits at Phulera and goes west towards Merta Rd (not too far from Pushkar), Jodhpur & Jaisalmer.
Trains from Jodhpur also go south via Marwar then on towards Ahmedabad.
The train from Ajmer to Jodhpur goes south west until Marwar, then north to Jodhpur.
