Agra - Umaria

Hi,

We are doing a 3 part holiday in India taking in Delhi, Jaipur and Agra before safari in Bandhavgarh and Kanha, then down to Goa for the beach!

We fly in to Delhi, and out of Mumbai and I've booked a flight from Nagpur to Goa and Goa to Mumbai.

We are looking to get the train from Agra to Umaria which is nearest to our first safari.

It looks like a 13 hour trip overnight which is fine. But the train doesn't appear to have a 1AC carriage? Is that right?

If we booked in 2AC would that be alright?

And would we - a couple - be best getting a side upper and lower berth?

Looking on there something like 35 & 36? How private would that be?

I am looking forward to experiencing the train journey, just want to make sure it is as enjoyable as possible!

Thanks all!

You cannot choose seat numbers while booking.
You can indicate preference of berths.
Some couples might prefer both lower berths on the inside - is a matter of personal preference, really.
2AC - well, the class of travel depends on your budget, and not all classes are found in all the trains.
Have a good trip.

The 8478 is a well timed trains. As Indizen has said you can give preference of berth at the time of booking but would depend on availability.
2A side upper and side lower berth should be fine enough. There are curtains provided in 2A.

Thanks for the info.

I just booked and we're in Coach 1A seats 23/24 so I guess that worked out well.

Cheers guys!

##I assume this to be 2A, because in IA Berth Numbers are NOT allotted at the time of booking, the ticket, if confirmed, just says "CONFIRMED".

##However, 23 is Side Lower and 24 is Side Upper not
only in 2A, but also in 3A & SL.

Hi,

That's right yes, it is 2A.

The train did not have a 1A coach. Or at least if it did there was no availability. Which would be a surprise because I booked on the first or second day that the dates are available to book (3 months in advance).

The ticket is confirmed so I think I am ok
