advice about travellin taxi and train combination

Hello,

After several hours looking for the best solution for our itienary in the shortest time possible i became with next combination :

2/2/04 arrival in Delhi at 07.00 am => Taxi to Agra
3/2/04 sleeper-train to Varanasi
6/2/04 sleeper-train to Agra
7/2/04 arrival in Agra at 06.15 am => Taxi to Ranthambore National Park
8/2/04 sleeper-train to Jodhpur
9/2/04 arrival in Jodhpur at 10.15 am => Taxi to Jaisalmer
11/2/04 sleeper-train to Jodhpur
12/2/04 arrival in Jodhpur at 5.15 am => Taxi to Udaipur
From udaipur we will fly to Mumbai-Goa.

I did this proposition to a company to hire the car and driver.
They mailed me, telling me :

As you make your tour it is not possible with this short period, because it is very dificult to get the train ticket's so it is better if After Varansi you come to Agra by train from Agra you go by car for all city's ,Because if you hire the car according your programe that is also similer price as Without train you have pay.
The price are.....FOR A VERY COMFORTABLE PETROL CAR IS 325/ EURO
The price are included all kind of tax, toll ,parking, driver, fuel,

Now , we do want to do the travel by sleeper train, because by car we will loose some extra days as we can't travel at night.
So what should we do ?

Is this a good price ? 325 euro for 4 days by car ?
Would it be a better idea only booking the first ride (Delhi-Agra) and then arrange another taxi (via the hotel perhaps) each time we need one in the city we are in and only by the way we planned ?

Thx so much for your advice, we need it urgently as we are leaving within one week...

Most hotels will be happy to organise taxis for you, but you will have to pay the return fare also (which means if you hire a taxi from Jodhpur to Jaislamer and then take a train back to Jodhpur, you will have to pay the Jaislamer to Jodhpur fare for the taxi also). For your guidance, the approximate costs for a non-airconditioned taxi (small car) should be
Agra to Sawai Madhopur - INR 3750/- (including taxes)
Jodhpur to Jaisalmer - INR 2600/-
Jodhpur to Udaipur - INR 2400/-

This includes the return fare.

We think he means more like six days for 325 Euro. Sounds high to us. Was this for the car only?
Your plan will work, but when will you have time to see anything??
You'll need to be flexible with your itinerary because you haven't booked your trains yet.

9/2/04 daytrain to Jodhpur, then sleeper train to Jaisalmer.
Dep. S. Mad. 14:45, arr Jodhpur 22:45
Dep Jodhpur 23:15, arr Jaisalmer 05:15.

11/2/04 sleeper-train to Jodhpur
12/2/04 arrival in Jodhpur at 5.15 am => Taxi to Udaipur
