dear all,
we are planning our 3 weeks tour and would be glad you shared your experience with us: *we will land in mumbai, midnight * we have exactely 3 weeks * we want to be back in mumbai 3 days before departue, so to say: all in all wie have about 17days for travelling... * we MUST see kerala: back waters (houseboat, athmosphere... 3d), periyar wildlife sanctuary (kumili, 3d), malabari coast (kanur), wayanad sanctuary and hampi! (kodagu, badami and finally gokarna would be nice) * we donīt know how to best and efficent plan the hampi-trip in this route: when starting, directly getting down by train to hampi via hubli and then heading back to the coast, getting down to kerala by train (kochin "better" getting in the backwaters than alleppey?), and than seeing all we want driving back up? or driving straight down mumbai to kerala and hampi finally, when heading back, having to take the train maybe from goa-margao to hubli? what do you think? when going to hampi, we will "loose" one day in mumbai, though the train leaves at midnight... when going to kerala, it would be before miday... * Tickets on trains for shorter journeys than 1,5d journeys - could this be a problem to get if not having booked in advance?! i mean, did you plan your trip so much in detail, which takes the freedom to stay somewhere longer or is it necessary to get a ticket at all?! THANK YOU SO MUCH! itīs our first tripp to southindia, though my love loves delhi and has been there a lot of times ;-) Would be so great someone could share herhis wisdom with us to make our planing thousands of kilometres away without any travelexperience there a little bit easier! morning-greetings out of vienna! gerti ![]() |

Dear Gerti,
In another Topic, we have discussed your plan to visit Hampi. ----- After Hampi, come to Hospet and take direct train to Bangalore. From Bangalore proceed to Kochi. Based at Kochi, please finish-off your engagements in Kerala. ----- From Kochi proceed to Goa by train. After a visit to Goa, proceed to Mumbai by a day-time train so that you can enjoy the picture-sique Konkan Railway which you must NOT miss to the best of your extent. ============= V.Srinivasa Prasad 21.1.2006/13.25 hrs. ========== |
