2nd class train differences
I took 2nd class trains on the marathon Bombay-Calcutta route. When I purchased my ticket the first time I asked if there was any difference other than air-con between 2nd class AC and 2nd class fan. I was told 'no'. This was incorrect.
In fact 2nd class fan is grubbier, has no curtains to allow privacy with the hall, and has several other inferior features. It costs twice as much to go AC but since it is only a $20 or so difference, who cares? In fact I prefer to travel third class because there are more tasty looking girls - but I do so only for short journeys because my butt likes a soft seat. |

3rd class has been abolished ages ago in India. You are probably talking about the 'unreserved' compartments.

SL, is in reality, 3rd class. 2ac and 3ac are basically the same except for the bunks stacked 2 or 3 high. 2ac is a lot more money for very little benefit.
