1 AC booking from Delhi to Bangalore in Rajadhani

Hi,
I was trying to reserve tickets in Rajadhani 2430 1AC thru a friend in India for August 1, 08. There are 4 of us, but only 2 seats are available. Seems like most of the 1AC seats are gone on blocked off.
Is it suggested to book the 2 available seats and take 2 on waiting list?
Are there any priorities for foreign tourists, quota, etc.?
Is there any agency that can help with this reservation?

Thanks for any info.

Can I ask you why are you travelling AC 1st - bcoz at that price you can fly to Bangalore?? If it is train that you want to experience then book in AC 2 also if you get all 4 seats confirmed.

No Tatkal tickets are issued for First Class (air con or non air con).

Some people simply fail to understand the joy of train travel, don't they.

It is not about getting there fast, or cheaply. It is about the journey. And AC1 is a completely different experience to AC2.

Last year I travelled from Cardiff to Istanbul by train - it took 6 days and cost almost £1,000. I flew back in 3 hours for £150. No guesses which of those journeys I remember most fondly.

Thanks for your suggestion Spicetrekker.
This time, I was hoping for a 1 AC experience (which I never had but only heard), but seems it is not going to happen.

Precisely Mickey, my aim is to have a different experience and I have heard from the experienced about 1AC as different.
Another reason for my choice besides the train experience is that Rajadhani 2430 stops at Puttaparthi, my destination.

According to their website, the answer is yes:

I do not know how well it works in practice.

Dear Sreeman,

##Please book your tickets as NZM-SC for 1.8.2008 and SC-SBC for 2.8.2008 in the same train.

(or)

##Take the Two available berths and book the remaining two as

##BUT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES KEEP YOURSELF WAITLISTED FOR YOUR JOURNEY ON 1.8.2008. THEY WILL NEVER GET CONFIRMED.

Please look at this:

Srinivas,

What does station code SC stand for? Just curious.
Although doesn't matter as long as it works.

So far my trials didn't go thru for communication error.

Will try again.

Thanks for the tip.
