It's lamb marinaded in saffron, onion juice to tenderise and then cooked over hot coals with lots and lots of butter!

Phew! The meat was made of meat.

I'm happy now

Sounds like very delicious meat too. I'm very happy. Or would be if I could be eating it!

Then on to one of my favourite things, chello kebab. Best one I've ever had and super reasonable for london at 8 / 800rs.

<img>

No grilled tomato though which brought sadness to my core and a tear to my eye.
never mind the tomato, where's the raw egg yolk served in a half shell?

nostalgic flashback
- crowd of friends around, no-one can be bothered to go out to eat - call one of the regular car+drivers and send out for chellow kebabs (with extra meat). Extra meat cos' they were mostly rice* served with plenty of unsalted butter, sprinkled with sumac powder, chopped raw onions, egg yolk in the half-shell, and noon-e-barbary (rich golden barley bread with more butter - not that thin unleaven stuff). Absolutely to die for!

* A plate with a pyramid of properly cooked Persian rice can be held up at eye level and the light shows through the grains.

What's for Lunch?

Dinner tonight at MBK food centre.

The last dish with seafood and flat noodles was a standout.

Croque Monsieur. Of sorts. With a wonderful Alpine cheese and slivers of green apple. On sour dough bread.

In France, some restaurants serve sushi with surimi inside. Is this really necessary?
