Summer Cooler Sour Dish

Here is my today's dessert (though not sweet) after today's lunch

A sour dish .. very popular in West Bengal in this sweating summer... made of raw mango... called 'aamer tok/ chatni'. It can be made sweet and delicious with enough sugar and garnishing with raisin.

White asparagus - the king (or queen?) of vegetables. Best enjoyed with melted butter and boiled potatoes as a side dish. Utterly delicious.

The season for white asparagus lasts only from mid-April to mid-June, and I have it every single weekend during these two months.

Where is Vandy?

I don't see any posts by him on this thread or IPL-V.

Cheers

Fish finger butties with tartare sauce. The weather is so miserable here that I have had to switch the lights on at noon so I decided I needed at treat.
The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.

I cant say I had it for today, but starting tomorrow for lunch, we will be having a fresh batch of home made Mango pickle (more of a "thokku" kind - like a chutney paste). Cant wait !

BTW, this year has been a good year for Mangoes. Abundant fruits, multiple varities, and for the first, an affordable organic alternative as well in Bangalore even though we came to know about them pretty late in the season.

We stocked up on Mango pulp and Mango pickles for the winter.
