I LOVE rajmah masala. It's probably not my favorite dish while in India (as I do love rich creamy shahi), but it's the one I constantly crave when at home. I can never find a restaurant that prepares it, and if they prepare a rajmah dish, it's never right. The best days living with my Indian family were lunches of rajmah chaval topped with spoonfuls of dahi.
My favorite dish to order stateside is muttar paneer. The Indian snacks I miss most of all are Lehar's Kurkure and Hide and Seek mint chocolate. YUM. I'm ready for lunch now and it's 8am. |

this is a bit of topic, but if we are avoiding bad water, than keep your eyes on the wonderfull, fresh carrot juice (I was having mine every day in Pushkar), amazing red sweet carrots, but then one day I sit Behind the counter and I se the guy adding the worst water from some unclean filthy bottle... However no gearms anyhow.....

I suppose like anywhere else it depends on the luck of the draw - either that or you have a frighteningly strong constitution
Either way I think it's best to watch where your water and ice is coming from and if you're at all suspicious then don't drink it. This is not to say one should be pedantic about this sort of thing, just careful, that's all, at least until you're well accustomed to indian germs. |

That's great news! I was always told that Chicken Tikka Masala wasn't available out there. Always nice if you don't fancy the hot stuff now and again!

Why, it's *got* to be the ever-green favourite.
curd rice with shallots/green mango pickle/ 'vadu manga' (small green mangoes in brine) After a workout in the blazing heat, that'll be best dish you'll ever have. period. cheers, Digital Drifter p.s Of course, freshly steamed idlis with sambar by the bucket too, is close. |
