this is a toughie...specially in a place like india where you have innumerable dishes based on region, community, etc...i really miss the darshini idli wada sambar in bangalore [was my staple diet for years there, also khara bath] but my favourite's got to be mummy-made biryani [you can't blame me, i'm hyderabadi! ] and also hyderabadi haleem...slurp!...though i never understood why it's served only during the month of Ramzan :-s...i'm drooling as I type coz it's Ramzan and I'm stuck in Noida (

Indian Dish ?

The best Indian Dish is tough to say because each state/region is having its own great food.
But yes, if I am asked I will say :
Dal, Chawal & Aalu ki bhujiya
I am feeling hungry.

Didn't read it all so if this has been mentioned, I apologise.

Consult a few guys and gals in Salem first. Then go to the correct place they suggested. Pick the largest ripest juiciest mango you can find of the recommended variety, and within 2 minutes off the tree, eat it. There will be no other 'dish' that compares.
