 There a certain degree of uncoolness of me publishing this list of Domino's Pizza, since I have been put down by many budget tourists for eating Domino's Pizza in India. I don't know about the rest of India but in Mumbai we have another alternative to Domino's -- viz., "Smokin' Joe's". Their pizzas are less expensive and they also have "pizza sandwiches" and you get nice freebies like fruit juice or a bottle of Coke depending on the size of your order. I don't know if they have a website. If anyone wants it I can put up a list of locations and phone no.s and such.

Domino's pizza has very bad politics here in the US as far as I'm concerned, so I won't eat there anywhere in the world. They spend money lobbying against civil rights, gratuitously, even if it has nothing to do with them. And they don't follow local zoning and conservation laws.

the best pizza in India i ever ate was in Dharamkot (a teeny village near McLeaod Ganj) we had heard about its great pizzas, and spent a spooky 20mins walking to it in the dark, enveloped by a drizzling mist. we almost turned back...but we pressed on, searching for the holy grail. soon, we reached it - like an oasis in the desert it rose in front of us out of the mist. man, it was the tastiest pizza I ver ate in India (much, much better than those pizzas you get in Leh with a base made out of scone mixture).
mmmm..... unfortunately we never took down the name. Nor can I remember the location (just up!) but it was fabulous. |

Pizza always nice to talk about
just to add some news for the pizza curious.
Amul, the Indian maker of superior dairy products, markets pre-fab pizzas through some restaurants and, presumably bars, around the country now. Various topping combinations and priced around 25-35rp for a 6inch (150mm) pizza -- quite good! Finding a good pizza in Goa is now quite easy -- even in low-key Arambol there are several places with brick, wood-fired, ovens offering very good pizzas, generally the regular dinner-plate sized, for 75-100rp depending on toppings. excellent. |

Funny Pizza was the first thing I ate while in India ,
I was still under the influence of culture shock and was afraid to get sick if I would eat anything , then I noticed the pizza oven , thinking : Anything coming out of that oven must be so hot that it's death including bacteria.

Adheri = Andheri is in MUMBAI Khar = Khar ... ditto ... Prabhadevi= .... ditto ... Vashi = ....is in NAVI Mumbai (means New Mumbai)(U kin keep one entry under Mumbai plus anudder under Navi Mumbai as a separate title) ALL MUMBAI & NAVI MUMBAI telephone numbers with seven digits should now be prefixed with "2"... makes it an eight digit number. Pizza relief
Say what you will about Dominos (or Pizza Hut) in the US, but tikka pizza for a couple of kids from California was perfect after days of curry--they didn't even miss the pepperoni! And, in Agra, Pizza Hut was the only restaurant that was constantly crowded...probably because their pizza was better than any Dominos or PH in our area!!
Would someone please start makking tikka pizza in CA? |

Only place I have ever got the runs from after eating is Dominos in Jalandhar. spent the whole night on and off the toilet cranking out the pizza I had consumed. A friend who also had it slept through the night without problems but was on the toilet all morning.
