I'm still confused on what it is...chirwa sounds like a possibility but to avoid the risk of us giving u suggestions on what to do with it (and it ends up being something totally different) ...can u put a snap up?

If it's flattened rice, Powa, try making this Gujarati dish called Bataka Powa, flattened rice with potatoes.. My mother makes best Batak Powa and it's great brunch dish.. I found this clip on You Tube, try it.

Yes sounds like Powa (in Gujarati) or Poha (Maharashtra and MP.) Well to cook, soak it in water for sometime, chop onions and fry them in oil, can add potatoes, other spices and salt and then put the soaked poha (after squeezing the water out) into the pan and cook it. I am sure you can get a more detailed receipe on the net. Other thing people do is eat it soaked in milk - a la brakfast cereal but to my mind the first option of cooking it is the best

Yes, it's flattened rice. Is it already cooked? If not, how long should it be cooked?

It's cooked rice, than flattened and dried. It will need to be soaked and wok fried with spices and coriander to get best out of them.
