Red Bananas
Well, I felt bleedin awful yesterday, stomach pains, too many visits to the toiket etc (you know the score) and my husband plied me with the Indian equivalent of tea and sympathy which comprised:
Red bananas filled with some strange, sweet tasting dried seed or nut Lemon soda water Hot ginger, lemon and honey tea And, of course it worked and I feel great today so I thought I'd share that with you for the next time it happens to you and yours. There's something about these red bananas (I guess they contain a lot of potassium, but don't know if there is something else special about them) and the locals call them medicine. Glad to say I'm back on the iddli uppum and egg curry for breakfast today ![]()

Bannanas are very soothing to the stomach. I believe the red ones (very expensive, IIRC) are especially used as medicine.
Gkad you're feeling better

Yes bananas are good for stomach. It stops irritation by coating the surface. Drink a lot of fluid though. ORS is a good stuff it replaces the salts lost due to too many visits.. A powder is available called Electral which you can mix with water & drink. Idlis are ok but dont start eating stuffs like egg curry etc. too soon. Give your system a bit of rest.
Get well quick. Regards. |
