Murg Achari Tikka / Other recommendations

Hi there,
I've been lurking for the last few weeks, heading to India in a few days...I'm a big food guy, and am accustomed to nuclear Southern Thai specialities (some super hot, great stuff, so I'm pretty sure I'm ready for whatever they can throw at me in India, but who knows)...Anyway, I'm looking for recommendations for specific dishes that I might not have heard of that would be good to try in India. I'm not picky about what's in them, I'll try anything, as long as it's tasty (and preferably spicy, though any recommendations are welcome, preferably stuff I might not have seen here at the same old same old Indian restaurants in California)!

Also, any recommendations for a good place to get Murg Achari Tikka (or is there another similar somewhat spicy dry chicken dish that I should be on the lookout for? I had a delicious M. Achari Tikka a while back and have been desiring it again for quite a while) in Delhi or elsewhere? Any other dry dishes I should try alongside the various wet dishes?

Thanks so much, I've really enjoyed reading the boards in the last few weeks and I'll report back on any food delights I find!

Welcome to Indiamike.

You will get loads of good restaurants in any city that you visit.

there are a number of good dry chicken dishes. the names may vary accross restaurants though.

Go to good multicuisine or mughlai restaurants(you will get loads of recommendations if you tll us the cities you are visiting).

Order a mughlai sounding chicken dish from the Starter or appetizer menu. It can include names like

1. chicken adraki tikka
2. chicken 65
3. various kinds of kabaabs.

Look through our food and cuisine forum, you will get loads and loads of suggestions on what to eat.
