Looking for complete glossary of Indian Dishes

Hi, if anyone has a link to a site with a complete list of Indian dishes and what they are i would greatly appreciate it. I go to restraunts and everytime i receive this list of items that i have no idea what they are. Its alright, i usually just try something new, but a list would be great to have too.

Also if you know the simplest way to say "What do you recommend" in Hindi i'd like to know that too.

Thanks,
Jared

hi theveil,

here is some history on indian cuisine from wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Cuisine

at the bottom of the page there is a "see also" section where you can look at lists of indian dishes, drinks, etc.

hope this helps!

Here is a website link http://www.tarladalal.com/Recipes.asp
Tarla dalal is well known cookery expert in India. She has her show on TV too. Her recipes are authentic.

theveil, even if you find the list, it will be, at best, a rough guide. indian dishes are subjective to the taste and skill of the chef. the same dish made by 2 different chefs could taste completely different. the same dish could be called by different names due to the difference in languages. good luck!
