Indian Restaurant in Wembley

Heading down to Wembley on Saturday to see the fabulous Asha Bhosle, and a curry before (and probably after) the show is mandatory.

Any recommendations for a good Indian in Wembley?

Is Woodlands still/again open?

Two places right next to each other on the high road.

Saraswathy Bavans (549, High Rd., Wembley, Middx HA0 2DJ 020 8902 1515 ) was very good the last time I was there.

Saravana Bhavan (531-533 High Road, Wembley, Middlesex, HAO 2DJ
44 208 900 0777 ) ought to be very good but I haven't tried it.

I did try the famous Sakoni once but I wasn't impressed. Perhaps you have to really like Gujarati food to enjoy it, and with their passion for sugar it really is an acquired taste.

Saraswathy Bavans was good when I was there a couple of weeks ago. It is the regular choice of the Tamil lady who took Mrs N and I there.

Ealing Road, around the corner (down the hill) has several more S. Indian and other places

Thank you both.

By the way, if you missed Asha Bhosle last Saturday, there's an extra show on Sunday, June 18, also at the Wembley Conference Centre. See http://www.ashabhosle.co.uk for details.

Although it helps if you speak Hindi -- unfortunately, the stories and announcements were not in English, unlike at the Barbican last year.
