Hi,
Is this wonderful beer easy to find in India, or would I need to dress up in a dinner jacket and hang out with the 80 year olds in some smokey former commonwealth mens club? Tia. |

Isn't that an American brand? I don't think there's anything Indian about it.
BTW, the former Commonwealth men's clubs are all Indian now. You'll have a hard time finding stodgy old colonials reminiscing about the Raj. |

Everything you wanted to know about India pale ale and more...
http://www.brewingtechniques.com/lib.../2_2style.html It was brewed to survive the long sea voyage to India from England. High gravity (strong) and extra hops were the techniques used to enhance its shelf life. Wanderer22 |

Good luck finding anything but Pilsner lager, at least here in AP that's all we can get. They do have IBI (International Brewed in Indian e.g. Fosters) but it's all pilsner too. The Dublin Pub sells Guinness but it's $12 US a glass.

It can also be difficult to find 'Indian tonic water' to go with a Gin.

Talking of commonwealth clubs, Winston Churchil still owes Rs.13 to the Bangalore club.

Many thanks for the replies, esp Wanderer22 for that link.
USD12.00 for a Guinness?!?! Jeez. Luckily I'm only travelling for four weeks. Cheers! |
