Anyone got any bright ideas? We're based in Anjuna and are happy to get the train down to Kerala. Not too worried about where we end up in Kerala, just want to soak up some culture and a different aspect of India. Keralan cuisine is a great favourite and I"d really like to pick up some lessons from a local.

This won't help you
but there's a guesthouse (I forget the name) in Mt Abu, Rajasthan that offers hands-on cookery sessions. They're given by a NI lady called Beverly who married into the family that runs the guesthouse. Ring a bell with anyone?Totally recommended ![]() |

It may be more than you're looking for, but a cultural center near aranmula in Kerala has a residential program that can include cooking courses (just an hour a day, though) along with language and arts courses. It's around 30 dollars a day (less for long term). You can find there website by doing a search for the name. Hope that helps.
