1. Who came up with that!?!? Must've been really bored/desperate/creative when cooking some eggs???
2. How long do you think until someone makes a device like that (just "prettier" than a used plastic water bottle! lol!) for sale (I can picture the ebay ads now...!)?
3. This is a really long way of separating an egg compared to the traditional method
but hey, whatever works! Would've loved this technique when I was younger and learning to cook!
You think anyone actually uses this every time they want to separate an egg!?Thanks for the link!
I'll stick with the old way that uses nothing but the shell of the egg itself. Might not be perfect, but it will do for me. Ingenuity appreciated, though.
The main reason I'll never be a pro cook: I can't shell eggs with one hand

It does ... the bottle!
I imagine it takes a steady hand not to jab the yolk and break it.
By the by.... Golden rule for kitchen gadget buyers: All gadgets which have anything to do with garlic are a waste of money and time. There is one exception: the simple garlic press, and then you must buy the one that pushes the garlic out of the holes when you turn the handle the other way.
Yes, I know a real pro crushes garlic with the flat of a knife

Unless that pro is Jamie Oliver in "30 Minute Meals"...every episode, he emphasizes not to peel the cloves, just put them in and press, then douses everything in olive oil. Gosh. Anyway, he's lazy, but now I want a garlic press

some of the stuff you see sold makes me think, "why didn't I think of that?", i.e., create a supposed need and make a bunch of dough!I saw a special "avocado pitter" the other day. $20, looked like a plastic knife, that's all. Mr. Sama (the main cook in the house) said, "someone can't figure out your method? a spoon?"

.... well, the beauty of a great invention is that everyone says : " oh, that's obvious!". Only, it wasn't until just about right then...

Yes it does - who uses bowls to separate eggs? Crack the egg, pour the white into whatever it is you are making. Move the yolk from one half of the shell to the other until you have separated all the white. Put the yolk aside until you need it, or freeze it, or (God forbid) throw it away. Similar Threads
