Guaranteed! This Drink will Revive you in India .......
Lets face it a day in India can be hot, sticky, polluted & most of all dehydrating and there is nothing better than to find that right elixir to replenish the fluids. What is your favouite drink(alcoholic, alcohol-free, fruit, caffeinated, soda, pani) and let us in on where your favourite watering hole is?
2 glasses of Sweet Lime (Mosambi) any place anytime does it for me. In Delhi - a cold beer at the end of the day at Imperial Hotel. ![]()

Its Sattu (roasted gram/barley flour) all the way: It can be sweet or salty; my favorite is sweet; in Bihar n Jharkhand, Sattu is also eaten, in the form of parantha (indian bread)
very easy to make; Just mix with cold water n sugar (for taste) high on fibers, high on energy n taste;

No one drink does it for me I'm afraid and usually the most enjoyable drinks don't replenish fluids quite so well. So here is my list: -
1/ Mornings: Water at breakfast; late morning - a nice cold Coca Cola (best drink in the world!) 2/ Afternoon: water (good for you), and occasionally a cold Limca 3/ Evenings: lager usually Kingfisher served nice and cold I don't drink hot drinks so hate any thought of coffee or tea . Water is my main drink of choice. The big shame in India is that I never fancy the milk so I go without. I love milk, usually with a biscuit or 12.rab ![]() |

I'm for chai anytime of day, but it's more than just for the drink,,,,,,,,The more authentic tea stall/road side shack the better. The authenticity of these places just adds to the experience.

I've found a new addiction: ginger beer. It's so refreshing, a bit spicy, and just yummy
I hope that is widely available in India?Another refreshing drink is tamarind soda. And of course like seventies'hippy I'm always fond of a chai (with lots of spice, please!) |

I like a ginger ale if available anywhere but not usually available in India!!! The next best bet is a fresh lime soda with sugar and salt, which is usually available anywhere in India!!!
But a hot cup of good FTGFOP (Fine Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) or First Flush Darjeeling tea is what makes my day anytime!!! No milk and maybe just a little bit of sugar added is fine with me. Like it for breakfast, after lunch or dinner and of course at tea time too!!! Immediately transported to heaven, if you ask me!!! Cheers, Aadil.

just had another can of ginger beer
![]() I noticed that it is brewed in Malaysia, licensed from a Sri Lankan company and labled in English, Tamil and Malayalam So I guess it must be sold somewhere in India. I'll investigate further on my next trip ![]() |
