Grinding roasted dal

What do you use for turning dry-roasted dal into powder? I have a mortar/pestle and this works for small jobs but what if I need to do a larger amount? My food processor just spins the dal around. My coffee grinder doesn't work that well either. I have an UltraPride wet grinder. Is there an attachment I can get for that?

Any suggestions?

Doesn't your food processor have multiple jar attachments? If there is a smaller and shallower jar, use it.

Second Rangss.

or you could do something sneaky, take the roasted dal to the appliances store and ask for a demo of any food processor with your dal in it.

Don't look at me like that! When you see the obviously fake demos on the Tele Shopping Network, you nod your head and say you want it!

Boy, that would be funny if the featured demo appliance didn't do the job! I can just see the perplexed look on the sweet company rep's face. "Are you sure those aren't rocks?"

My food processor only has one bowl, with a 3 cup capacity.

I think I will have to put a spice grinder on my India shopping list.....

Yeah, once in awhile dal gets treated like spice, hence the dry roasting.
I was wanting to make a powder that would be mixed with oil and eaten with iddlis.

That's why they have giding stones(or atleast used to have) in India. See below.
