Has anyone bought a masticating juicer in India? If yes then from which store and in which city? I am trying to get into vegetable juicing for which a masticating juicer is the best machine; but most stores here carry only centrifugal juicers.

I checked a few online stores but they too had only centrifugal juicers. The Omega 8006 juicer has been highly recommended to me and it comes with a warranty of 20 years. I would like to buy this masticating juicer if some store carries it, or is prepared to source it for me from abroad.

Tulsi

Very interesting thread that you have started. I did a search online and found the following interesting links (I have no connection with any of the products):

http://www.harvestessentials.com/juco.html

http://masticatingjuicersite.com/mas...juicers-review

http://www.juicingbook.com/centrifug...cating-juicers

A couple of years ago when I was in St. Petersburg, Russia I bought a meat grinder (I will take a photo of it and post later)- looking at the photos in the above links, I think it works on the same principle as a masticating juicer (in fact in the above links you will find reference to it being used to make meat pate) - I bought it to make ground meat (goat in India) since I wanted to make kebabs or "Nattu-baah-Burger".

Additionally, isn't it similar to the ones used by street vendors in India to make sugar cane juice (ganna ka ras)?
Cheers

I will be travelling to New Delhi for buying a masticating juicer. Can someone tell me where in Delhi can I find it, or do I head straight to Gaffar Market ?

Lightbulb masticating juicer available online

Hello there! Masticating juicers are hard to come by in India or in Delhi. Anyway the good news is that the HUROM slow juicer is now available in India through Sanjeev Kapoor's online store. Pl. see www.wonderchef.in. I have ordered this juicer online and am pleased with its performance. Though a little expensive it is a worthwhile investment if you are serious about juicing, are a juice lover or a health freak.

I cannot say anything about Gaffar Market as I do not live in Delhi.

Tulsi - Thank you so much for the link. I've been searching for weeks both online as well as offline trying to get one. I was thinking about import duties and such. Thanks to you I'll get it here. I'm ordering it now
