Favorite munchies

What are your favorite snacks when you travel?
Is Krackjack still selling in India?
Those cheapie glucose biscuits?
That yummy "plum cake" in the bakery?
Those constipating "mixtures"?

Krackjack does still sell in India, so does Glucose ('D' or something).

different munchies in different places..
whlile near bombay.. it's 'poha' or 'bhadang' with hot chai
in south, its mostly chips or 'shev' (kind of fried noodles).
but wherever I might be, it is always 'bhel puri'. yummy

Thumbs Up cola!

Even tho I don't like coke, I really like Thumbs Up cola! I detect a flavor that reminds me of incense.

While buying famous brands of biscuts outside of metros, carefully read the brand name. There are virtually hundreds of fake brands selling in the same design cover and similar fonts. But the name will be minutely different.

The ones which go stale in about half an hour if you don't eat them all up at once? Shows how many preservatives must be used at home to keep our crisps crisp!

Least favourite crisps in India... Lay's Magic Masala - bleecchh.

I'm sure if I walked around california's Indian districts I'll probably find a store that sells them for less, but these web grocers DO rip people off.

If you are in delhi Kya mangta hai will deliver it for some nine rupees or something within two hours(yeah right!)...so there is still some decent prices to be found in the web world.

Samosas are a favourite snack of mine. Or this stuff being made here which I can't remember the name of. Or oranges. I like fresh snacks best but also buy the odd chocolate bar or bag of crisps. Most of the biscuits I tasted were dry and stuck to the roof of my mouth like peanut butter (e.g. Parle G and Marie biscuits)... I'm sure there are nicer ones though.
