Reason: Adding link
I can't wait to see your link.
Click on the globe plus paperclip, delete the blue http:// and paste your link.
distaff
PS vandy,
I felt a bit weird telling you how to post a link - I was pretty sure you knew how to do it. But you never know... Besides I want to see it and figured I could speed things along.
Thanks for the show!

Ummm ... very innovative.
I am amazed at the way it stretches.
That roti looks like a baby blanket.

Nice vid
These are known as rumali roti, no? (Handkerchief roti.) Though these ones are arguably, er, huge
Never seen 'em quite as big, yet; though large they ought to be. Tasty, though. I've had them in Old Delhi (at the famous Karim's, perchance? I actually do think so. Jyotirmoy should know. Could be we moved on for lack of tables) and by a streetside Mumbai eatery (Bade Miya's, in Colaba, likewise highly popular), should still have some pics of the cook making them at the latter, didn't come out like very much though, I think (that is my pics, not his rotis
). They're quite different to taste & texture than regular roti, if I recall. Good food, as always
(They're from the Mughlai cuisine, I think, which would make sense, as both of these are Muslim places.)

Not roti but romali roti, but still tasty.
Lord, Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill because they pissed me off.

This one looks more like a "bathing towel" roti.
BTW, good find, vandy.

Nice find: That looks tasty ( and enough for a week ).
There's a restaurant near me selling "Persian Naans" that are nearly as large as a table for two. A colleague and I made the mistake of each ordering one at a dinner the other day ( along with kebabs and a full plate of rice ). When the waiter came back there and there was only one with him we were relieved; only to find he went right back into the kitchen to retrieve the second one which we had to stack on top of the first to get it to fit on the table. Took the left overs home and it was breakfast the next day all by itself.
This one could cover a table for 4 or 6!

My God...
How would you go about eating one of those? I would be too embarassed to ever actually buy one, haha. Like when I ordered a paper dosa the first time and then slunk down in my chair when a dosa as long as the table showed up, and everyone at surrounding tables started giggling and watching me figure out how to eat it..

LOL, CC'girl -- I sympathize. Had those dosa/uttapam/whatever they're called experiences where you're like, um, where's the toilet, and the backdoor.
(My first dosa for that matter, very regular one, too. Didn't know what on earth to do with it. Must have proceeded just having a go at it, er, I don't know which way. A little looking around how others do it may of course help. But arguably not if they're now all laughing at you
)
(ps, And that sounds like a cool joint, Dapfunk. So that's Chicago?)
--> The other day in a city not far away, I'm meeting an IndiaMike member, and so we go for Indian food. So we order some dishes and we get naan to go with it; I'm used to this being not too much, so order some chapatis while we're at it. Of course, the naan comes in a neat little basket full of them and so once again that's an Indian meal unfinished
Cleverly tasty as well as filling cuisine, I must say.
