It depends wat u wanna eat....if u want to go for momos etc then u'll find lot of eating joints near the tibetan market. If u want proper Indian food, you will find lot of options on the mall road like Channi Raja, Capri, Kwality.

Restaurant of Hotel Alka on the main road facing lake is one place where I had dinner 2 times during my tour of Uttaranchal in Feb 05.

I used to love to eat the momo's there also. Dip them in the chili sauce. Yummy!

If you want the true Naini experience -- go up the lane behind the bus stand and ask anyone for the tiny shop whicch specialises in Lota vale Jalebi and samopsa. Yum --

The shops around the mall are just the regular greasy spoons -- dishing our regular fare.

But the best food we had was in Bhimtal -- 40 mins away from Naini. There is a retired couple who make home cooked food and serves it out in their garden just overlooking the lake. If you call in advance you can get the lady to cook pretty much what you want. My cousins kids loved her lasagne, spinach soup and upma so much that we went four days running. Her contact number is 05942 -247570.
Forgot her name -- Aunty I guess.

enjoy

It was '97 when i was there, the best & most popular place at the time was called Ashoks & it was at the end of the mall facing the boathouse. However i'm sure some of the 4* hotels have very nice restaurants at a price. KK
