Best Coffe in India

Where did you have the best Coffe ever while in India?

For me it Might have been, German Bakery in Rishekesh or...
Some Modern (50 rs) Cafe Latte place in Delhi (dont recall the name). Or the Italian Restaurant in Jaisalmeer (they have pasta, pesto, nutella etc, you name it, but pricey)

Think chai is to sweet and unhealthy (suggar is not good for you)?
Drink lemmon ginger honey, it´s the best drink really and healthy too! ;D

Ikuru, there are 160 branches all over the country. They are not in every town or city and yes the sign says "Indian Coffee House".

Things are cheap and simple in the ICH. Unlike the new, trendy coffee bars now in India, there is no long and winding menu of coffee types to choose from. There is no need to confuse your latte with your cappuccinos or your macchiato with your mocha. Coffee comes as coffee, no frills, no fancy names. And it’s absolutely delicious. For four or five rupees per cup, you can't complain. Maybe it’s a place trapped in time. But it’s a place in time that I prefer. After all, coffee is just coffee and its been around for ages. That is until someone “rediscovered” it then reinvented it as the latest lifestyle product. You can keep your “double mint mocha decaf skim latté”. Just give me plain old coffee in simple surroundings.

Only coffee. No Cheese or carrot cakes.

In chennai most of the places you get good coffee (with sugar and milk though).

More likely dosa and vadas. Fair enough though & consistently good food for that matter. They used to be mostly found in the south but I take it from postings here there's some branches up north as well. Your consistently best bet at a decent coffee, which I was never too impressed with in India I'm sad to say, not even down south. I took to eating huge breakfasts instead just to wake up, not something I normally do. I guess I'm one of those few souls who actually gained weight while being there.

Try one of the "Cafe Coffee Day" outlets they have a great Indian dark roast coffee bean that you can buy to take home and make your own great coffee.
I think it is called Dark Forest. The best coffee we have found to date there. Another good bean is "Peaberry" you can get it at any local coffee tea shop and they will grind it however you like.

barista's is always quality western style cappuchino, but in southern india, from bangalore down they have these tiny cups with strong milk coffe which is greattttt for 5 rupees or less. not in barista's though, just in the streets and markets..

my fav: behind the market in pondicherry town (not just the coffee, the whole preparation was a fascinating act!!)

Durga Dhaba in Kasauli makes a nice cup of cofee - or it tasted good because it was really cold and it warmed me up a bit.

Baristas do a good coffee as well.

Most south Indian vegetarian restaurants in Chennai have excellent coffee. Saravana Bhavan is the standard. Sangeetha is good too.

South Indians make the ultimate coffee in India. Families especially Tamil Iyers will fresh press their coffee every morning. Its a serious deal in households and it smells so good! Its similiar to how some families from the north make tea. Its almost a science. Something others cannot duplicate.

Bangalore has great coffee!! Koshys is veryyy good. All the best coffee joints are supposedly in Bangalore as well! The best places to have coffee probably dont have teeny bopper in tight jeans and cool A/C accompaining it! LOL...So as far as Barista in India is concerned..ehhh not my idea of great coffee...I can get that here in the US at Starbucks..but when I am in INDIA, I want traditional Indian kapi!

Absolutely anywhere in the South. From the smallest, cheapest most basic (read, not too clean) Veg. restaurant, served in a weird wet glass to any Indian Coffee House North or South. And right here in New Jersey at our very own South Indian restaurant, where it tastes almost the same but costs lots more! I sure miss that coffee! I like when they hold the pot (of already brewed, sweetened and with milk) really high and pour it into a little glass and never spill a drop!
