Question Banana Porridge - who eats it?

When I'm not having alu paratha, appam or puri baji for brakfast, I like to try banana porridge. This shows up on tourist restaurant menus all over India, but particularly in the south.
But exactly what sort of people eat it? Those who knew all the words to All Along The Watchtower at one time, or just anyone with an eye to filling food of any sort?
This survey aims to seek the truth.

So I went for my first walk in PaharGanz and I found myself sitting in a nice chai shop....so with my chai, the first thing I tried to eat was Banana porridge...I am telling you that since that morning i NEVER TRIED IT AGAIN.....

I've eaten plain oat-porrige every morning here in Sweden the last 38 years. And I'm so happy that India is so civililized that you can get a nutricious, fiberrich porrige here also.

Im crying every time I visit US or UK and have to stand the fat greasy hotel breakfast there.

In India, I always had real Scots porridge for breakfast (as my mother is Scottish). I've never tried banana porridge or heard of it. But I'm willing to give it a try. I recommend Scots porridge to everyone. It's very cheap and very healthy. I like mine hot, with cold milk and brown sugar on top. A good winter breakfast. In summer, cornflakes with cold milk and sugar and sliced bananas and strawberries on top are nice (this is an Aussie breakfast).

I love aloo paratha. An aloo paratha with pickles is a good way to start the day.

But I'm afraid I'm not very healthy when it comes to breakfast since I became an adult. My first contact with French civilization at the age of 17 ruined me. Now it's black coffee, a cigarette and if I'm lucky, a croissant with jam for breakfast. I would like to give up smoking and black coffee, but so far I haven't been able to manage it.

Those damn addictions! *hee hee* never had banana porridge myself. breakfast for me can range from cold cereal to hot pizza...It's all good.

While in India I had a great omelet and puri bhaji..a perfect combo to get me going!

The south has wonderful idli. Wonderful, that is, if they are fresh, and home-cooked. Not so wonderful otherwise . . .

I like curd rice with banana.

I don't like it with pickle and salt.

When Tamil people see me eating my sweet curd rice they say, 'baby food...'

I Love the warm, gooey taste of banana porridge.... had quite a few bowls of that stuff in Rishikesh -- (swiss cottage)...

Personal Tip: Try it with a large scoop of honey and a little extra milk... !

Anytime I've ordered banana porridge off the menu anywhere in India, I've gotten ordinary porridge with banana slices. That's banana porridge.

Don't know why I keep giving it a go.

Was in Kerala last year - banana porridge every day for breakfast. Basically large bowl porridge with chopped banana on top. As I am wrong side 40 - perhaps is ageing hippie breakfast.
